NORTHERN EXPOSURE • Calgary Smith won his first Montana Circuit year-end title with Brady Tryan finishing the season with $32,834.12 after winning the third round and the average at the Montana Circuit Finals Jan. 9-11, 2025.

YOUNG BLOOD • Texas ropers Cowboy Porras and Cason Christian cashed in $19,860 for the #11.5 Bloomer win at the Ariat World Series of Team Roping qualifier in Andrews, Texas, Jan. 3-5, 2025, after roping four steers in 33.72 seconds.

BACK-TO-BACK • Heath King and Stephen Britnell won their second consecutive International Professional Rodeo Association world title together Jan. 19, 2025, inside the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, with $47,953.15 and $48,590.61 won on the year.

DOMINANCE • Tyler Tryan and Denton Dunning topped the Open at the Ariat World Series qualifier in Hamilton, Texas, Jan. 17-19, 2025, for $6,200 with a 31.68 on five head.

REMINDER: CINCH USTRC NFTR'S 10-ENTRY-MINIMUM RULE FOR ROPERS 20 & UNDER • The 10-entry rule runs from Nov. 29, 2024 to the start of the Cinch Natioanl Finals of Team Roping.

DUSTIN EGUSQUIZA AND LEVI LORD KICK OFF 2025 WITH $24K SAN DIEGO RODEO WIN • Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord won the 2025 San Diego Rodeo Jan. 12, after a 4.0-second run in the Shootout Round.

WORLD CHAMPS WADE & THORP GEAR UP FOR SECOND ANNUAL WORLD YOUTH TEAM ROPING CHAMPIONSHIP MARCH 21-23 IN STEPHENVILLE • Tyler Wade and Wesley Thorp, on the heels of the 2024 PRCA World Championship, expand focus to industry growth with World Youth Team Roping Championship.

Eric Fabian and Derek Carey Capture 2024 First Frontier Circuit Titles • Eric Fabian and Derek Carey roped three steers in 20.8 seconds to win the First Frontier Circuit Finals and the year-end titles.

(At Home With) • The wait to turn pro is over for Gabe Williams. He turned 18 in October, and will graduate from high school at White Horse Christian Academy in Stephenville, Texas in May. The son of eight-time World Champion Header Speed Williams and his wife, Jennifer, mostly heeled on his way up the roping ranks. Not many know that Gabe recently had to switch ends. But his can-do spirit is taking it in stride, and he filled his Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association permit on the first steer he ever ran in the pros—heading for his NFR switchender dad.
